Your car is equipped with GM's PassKey antitheft device. Several GM products, including the Chevrolet Impala and Malibu, the Oldsmobile Alero, the Pontiac Grand Prix, and Saturn Ion, have issues with the Security light coming on. This is many times an indication of a failing Body Control Module (BCM). Initially, the Security light will come on then go off, progressing to a constant on light, before the car will refuse to start. Other symptoms may include erratic action of electronics, a clicking sound coming from the glove box, and the air conditioning failing to blow cold air. I recommend a shop that specializes in the electronic systems of vehicles to diagnosis and make the necessary repairs. They should keep the car until they replicate the symptoms described. A new BCM from GM should cost about $230; plan on another $200 for them to diagnose the problem, replace the unit, and program the new unit. The dealers quote between $700 and $1,100 for the same repair. My experience and the experiences I have read on the internet, indicate the new BCM should last only about a year.

Where is the alarm located on an 2006equinox

What alarm ? Anti-theft ?
The theft deterrent system on this vehicle is comprised of 2 separate systems, the Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) System and the Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System. The VTD prevents drive away theft by preventing the vehicle from starting. The CTD is the vehicle alarm system which discourages unauthorized entry into the vehicle. These systems are described and diagnosed separately within this section.
SECURITY Indicator
The SECURITY indicator on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) is controlled by the body control module (BCM) through the security indicator control circuit.
?€¢
The Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) System contained in the BCM commands the instrument cluster to control the SECURITY indicator only when the ignition switch is ON. The VTD System uses the telltale as a malfunction indicator.

?€¢
The Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System also contained in the BCM commands the instrument cluster to control the indicator only when the ignition switch is OFF. The CTD System uses the SECURITY indicator to identify system status.

It's software , a program inside the BCM ! An you can't just replace the BCM , it needs programming ! The dealer is the place to have that done ,most of the time ! If there is a SECRUITY light lit on the dash ,there is a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored in the BCM , this code will point the service technician in the diagnostic path !

Theft system light comes car wont start

The theft light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hot wired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

Truck stalled wouldn't start.

I can understand you being frustrated.
There really is no way to tell if the fuel pump was the problem at this point.
If the security system fails, you should see "security" light up on the cluster.
The key lock has a sensor that reads the chip in the key. If the sensor fails or the chip fails the computer won't let the vehicle start.
Most of the time when the security system is at fault, the vehicle won't start, but it won't cause the engine to stall.
You might want to have someone check the fuel pressure and spark at the plugs if you don't see the security light on the cluster.
Could be the fuel pump relay and a list of other things.
I would probably check the computer for trouble codes too.

Chevy Malibu LS (V6-3.1 L) won't start or starts up and IMMEDIATELY dies, how can I diagnose the problem?

Your car starts and dies due to the failing antitheft system. Your vehicle is not receiving the "fuel enable" signal that it needs to keep running. So the injectors get turned to off to prevent theft. You will need to diagnose which part of the antitheft system is failing. Or bypass the entire security system. This link will help you understand the problem, and depending on the year of your vehicle, possibly a good bypass solution.

The lights in the dash come on but the security light jus flashes and the car want turn over or nothin

You have a failed antitheft security system. The key is most likely the problem. That little chip tends to wear down. It could also be a few other things. Since the light is flashing, it will either be the key or ignition lock cylinder. If it wear solid, then it would be the TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) which is the brain of the security system. Try rplacing the key. if that doesnt work you have 2 choices. Replace the ignition or bypass the security. There are 2 ways to bypass your car. BOTH will work for you. Ive done it. This link will help you understand the system and guide you with pictures and those 2 other links. Any questions, comment back on THIS post. Im good with BUICKS and always willing to help. It could be corrosion on the battery terminals. Otherwise, you sometimes can't get a car with a dead cell in the batty to jump start at all. I would call the seller and politely ask their advice.
Treat them with respect, and they will probably be very helpful. Don't start accusing them of things. That just never ever helps.

Anti theft system came on dash. shut the car down will not start. 2002 cadillac. i was told 30 differ sensor showed wrong. which sensor to start with.

The SECURITY light is located on the instrument panel cluster.

If the ignition is off and any door is open, the SECURITY light will flash, reminding you to arm the system. To arm the system, do the following:
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door using the power door lock switch with the door open or the remote keyless entry transmitter. The SECURITY light should come on and stay on.
3. Close all the doors. The SECURITY light should go off within approximately 30 seconds. If a door or a trunk is opened without a key or a remote keyless entry transmitter, the horn will sound and the lamps will flash for about 30 seconds.

Also can check this and other details in the 2002 Cadillac Owners Manual (page 85 and next).

Hope helps (remember rated and comment this).
