Removed Tranny and back to replace freeze plugs on the ba

I removed the Tranny on back on my 97 ram 5.2L 4wd truck to replace the freeze plugs on the back of the block. After I reassembled it, it refuses to start. It cranks and all but seems like it is not getting any fuel. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Wont start

You could have a bad coil. You might want to check your plug wiresIf they look a little old the could be bad. Also check you distributer. Goodluck and PEACE

SOURCE: removing '99 Durango starter

Make sure you have all of the bolts off. Sometimes they hide one really well. Then just tap lightly on the starter case to free it up.

SOURCE: 97 ram 1500 4wd will just shift out of o.d.

This is one of the first signs of Dodge transmission failure. Hunting between second and third around 45 MPH is another sign. I would drain some of the transmission fluid, and look for foreign particles is the fluid. If it is as I suspect you should change the filter and the fluid immediately. The particles I am expecting you to find will be aluminum from your torque converter, they are not magnetic and will not show on the dipstick.

I have a 02 Mercury sable. I need to replace the freeze plug on the end. I was told the tranny has to be removed. Is there any other way to get to it, without removing tranny?

probably not --- engineers are not cooperative in that manner and freeze plugs ( welsh plugs ) are in the most inconvenient positions
best advice here is if one is rusted out then the rest are close behind and if you have to pull the transmission , rather pull the engine , put it on an engine stand and do the lot as the others are in bad spots as well

I have coolent leaking out from beetween engine and tranny where could it be coming from.thank you.

freeze plug,, a plug located in the engine block. 2 are at the rear between the motor and transmission housing, not a fun fix by any means. the tranny has to be removed and the new softplug, (usually brass) has to be tapped back in,,

Were do you refill rear end differential on 98 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4

On the rear differential there will either be a metal plug or a rubber plug. The metal plug can be removed with a 3/8-inch drive ratchet. the rubber plug can be removed with a small screwdriver. Faceing the axle from the rear will see the plug to the right side on the cover plate. Remember to also check the front differential as well. Hope this will help you.

I need to replace the starter on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd 5.9l

Easy fix my friend.

1. Unhook the battery
2. Raise and support the truck on jack stands.
3. The starter is located on the drivers side at the front of the tranny.
4. Grab an 8mm and a 13mm wrench.
5. Remove the power wires from the starter.
6. Remove the starter by removing the top bolt 9/16 i believe and the bottom nut. Also 9/16 or 5/8.
7. Carefully slide it out toward the front of the engine.
8. Installation is the same as removal.

Hope this helps.

99 dodge ram 4x4 w 360 engine trans has only 1st gear and reverse

Are you saying you put in a new but used tranny and it still dosent go out of first gear? Or are you saying you replaced a tranny line? If its the tranny you replace and first is the only gear you may not have adjusted the shifting linkage correctly. Put the truck in park and loosen the linkage on the tranny and slidr the rod on the tranny back and retigten and try that

Transmission only has 1st and reverse 98 dodge ram 1500 5.9L 4X4

If you removed the radiator, the transmission cooler lines on the bottom would be the first place to check. Wouldn't take much to get a kink in the line, and a possible cause for your shifting problems. Best of luck to you.
