SOURCE: Fog Lights won't work

Definitely a ground. Clean everything with light sandpaper. Follow any/all wires and see where it grounds, clean there too. If all else fails, run a new ground wire from the frame to the exact spot you got the bulbs to work (a workaround that usually remains permanent on my cars!).

SOURCE: 1997 GMC Sierra Ignition Switch Replacement

take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: fog lights not turning on

Sounds good to me except, the switch light shout be on the relay primary circiut and light off until you turn it on. When you turn the switch on, it lights up and energizes the relay, the relay closes and completes the secondary circiut for ythe fog lights. VIOLA' I have a silverado. done deal thanks

Typically the Neutral Safety Switches are located with the gear selector, either in the column or the floor.

Hope this helps,

Its simple the fog lights are held in with several round clips that have 4 little tabs. Take a deep 10 or 11mm socket ,place it over the round clip, then push out on the light.

check your headlamp switch.is your switch on the dash or part of the turn signal switch.gm have a thing with plastic switches and metal contacts these switchs have a tendency to melt..also check for grounds.was the vehicle in a accident involving the front end.if you changed your headlamps to 80/100 watts bulbs.the circuit breaker may not work hence the switch melts.

I hae a 2004 GMC and the passenger side fog light does not work but the driver side works properly. It is not the buld as I switched from left to right light it made no difference. The wiring seems to be...

could be the socket check to see if there is any rust in the bulb socket nthat has been a known issue for GM fog lights. If so you will have to change the whole light.
