It was very cold -15 the other night. I never went outside to warm up my 2006 Rav4. Well it started fine but no heat, no wipers, and it wouldn't let me take it out of park. Once the car was warmed up...

Could be a weak key switch, which was made worse by the cold. It could have some corrosion or moisture in the switch causing weak connections.

How can i check my 1995 chevy corsica abs system with out a scanner

If you live anywhere cold and you have a snow-filled parking lot, drive through and hit the brakes. If the brake pedal pushed back, the ABS is working fine.

1998 malibu won't shift into gear when cold outside but, works fine in warm weather, why?

you need a transmission fluid and filter changed.because if filter stopped up.transmission fluid little thicker in cold climate make it hard circulate through filter.when engine and fluid get warmer fluid get thinner where it can circulate through filter cause transmission to shift correctly.

you may have a bad,or going bad starter. when you attempt to start it cold, does it turn over real slow? this can be 2 different issues. either a bad or weak battery,or starter dragging. simple to diagnose. take you car to auto zone or advance auto parts and have them check your battery for free 1st. if it checks good, then go towards a bad starter. the starter can drag,or turn really slow when it's going bad. almost like a drained battery. but after the engines warm,it turns over just fine. narror your search by ruling out a bad battery by having the battery checked for free 1st. then move towards replacing the starter. thank you for choosing

if all you heard is a click when turning your key and after a few try's it will crank then the starter contacts are worn out, you can replace them easy or just get a new not rebuild starter. one more thing put a volt meter on your battery and crank your engine if voltage drops below 10.5 v battery may be at fault or starter is drawing to much current.

Hello it is winter here in edmonton Alberta Canada and it is getting very cold. My car will not start. It will turn over and make a rwa rwa rwa sound then just shut off. Any Ideas?

I would suggest you have your battery tested to make sure its up to the task.
Your starter may also be pulling to much current.

Normal winter prep would be an ignition tune up and a lighter grade motor oil.

Good luck, and put another log on the fire
