I took my fuel injectors out my 96 grand am 2.4 and inside the motor wher thay come out is all dry except one ...plugs and wires go in one way not that ...just getting to much gas and spudders but why would the be tons of gas inside the inside hole of wear the injuctors go and not the other ??

    two parts to the injector electrical and mechanical the pintle that blocks the orifice where the fuel comes out may be stuck or not seated properly and they will ohm out fine because it is not part of the electrical side

If your sure you didnt spill any fuel from the rail into the holes then the one injector that is wet is leaking fuel into that cylinder and will cause the sputters and shakes and reduced power and black smoke

    ok say i have an injector not shutting of wthell would couse it to not shut off ...tested them all with a metter thay all read up to par

If you mean one injector port is wet, I would say that injector is leaking and-or not shutting off.

    what would couse it to not shut off ..it all started over an over heat

you need to look around a listen with the engine running for a vacuume leak. could be just a hose that came off or a cracked hose or cap missing

add some additive and take apart and clean again. change the fuel filter also cause it sounds like theres something clogging somewhere and it will take some trys to get it all out

check the mas air flow sensor(is this the 6 cyl) the sensor has a problem with the nose piece inside not moving enough to tell the ecm the propper air flow for the cold start,also check throttle valve for dirt build up around it-if its a four cyl repost

Some things you can check. First, with the engine off, look down into the carburetor and quickly move the throttle. You should see a squirt of fuel. If not, the accelerator pump is bad. If that is OK, check the spark itself. It should bridge a half inch gap with no problem and should be healthy (have good "snap" and bluish color). If OK, check the two wires that run from the ignition module inside the distributor, down under the breaker plate.Often those wires can partially break or short to the housing...when the advance moves the plate it will cause a problem.
Only other thing I can think of is timing. That engine likes from 8 to 12 degrees advance (depends on fuel quality) if it's set wrong it can make it fall on it's face when you floor it. (bad chain can do that too).

96 grand am misfires going around 60 in final gear


I AM LOOKING AT CLOGGED FUEL FILTER.OR WEAK FUEL PUMP.SOUND LIKE LEAN MISFIRE..CHANGE PLUGS AND WIRES + CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS WILL INJECTOR CLEANER.POUR INJECTOR CLEANER IN WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS.

The inline fuel injecter is messed up, do i have to drop the gas tank on a 95 grand jeep cherokee?


no, fuel injectors are on the motor, in you look at your engine, right above one of the spark plugs, you will see an silver looking bar go accross twords the next plug, this is you fuel rail, on the inside of this rail are the injectors, each one goes into the block and has two little wires going into it. Once you know which of these injectors is bad you can take off the fuel rail (being careful to relieve the fuel pressure first) and then replace the injector, which snaps into both the block and the fuel rail, please also note that when you do this, be sure the old "o" rings come out with the old inject and the new injectors have the "o" ring in place, i once had a bad experience whyen i neglected to do so. that has a votec engine in it the fuel pressure is droping at knight and it takes 60 psi before the injectors will fire most likely cause fuel pump ,leaking injector ,or a feul pressure regulator

3.1 engine 96 misfires trough driving speeds and idle


i had a 94 that ran into problems like that with very rough idles and misses. i get about five different codes from injectors to oxygen sensor. turned out my negative wire from the battery was so corroded inside the insulation it was causing all sorts of problems. bought new cable and ends from canadian tire $40.00 and installed (had to clean the connection to the block with sand paper) but fixed all my problems after that.

for spark to the spark plugs and second u have

Corolla 96 motot starts to cut and/surge in and out


firstly remove the inlet fuel line at the filter and and blow down line with a compressor ,removing fuel cap first,if this doesnt work then it could be fuel pump pressure of air flow meter ,but iam often wrong with this sort of thing and it turns out to be the radio,all joking aside try blowing out fuelline doesnt work??then take it to dealer for computer check

check all the ignition supply wires and yes the plugs could be the problem if you had an injector problem it could have fouled out some plugs
