SOURCE: I have a 2001 Passat 1.8t and I'm not getting no

In the footwell area on the left and right after removing small panels look inside with a torch and you will see the levers operated by the motor for the heater controlls wich are coloured orange white and grey but may be other colours, lubricate with wd40 lightly and check there is no water leak from heater radiator.Mine worked after this and problems started with the freezing weather we had.On American models there is a bleed cap in the engine bay where the 2 pipes enter the firewall under a hose clamp.

SOURCE: climate control

flap for fresh air/ recirc air have a tendancy to get stuck and thus causing the clicking noise. dont envy you on the repair as they are hard to get to.

Hi, the heater of my 2000 mitsi galant says 30 degrees but still cold. sometimes normal but sometimes 30 degrees is too cold and when i turn dial to 30.5 then too hot.

Is the engine getting up to temperature?
If so, then the issue is with the interior heater system.

Check or change the interior thermistor.
If this doesn't help, then replace the climate control computer/control box.

1999 VW Passat heat not working

Could be your thermostat... If defective, it will not allow the engine to heat up. Take the coolant cap off before you start the car when it is cooled off. start the engine and let it idle, look at the coolant. The coolant should not be flowing or moving right when you start the engine, if it is, the thermostat is bad. If you dont have enough coolant and you see it is low, this may also cause the heater to stop working. Someone may have by-passed your heater coil, check that. Sometimes when a heater coil leaks, people will by pass it so that they can continue to use the car or they cant afford to change it. It should be located on the passenger side under the dash or on the firewall inside the engine compartment on the passenger side. Another thing could be your climate control which is a fancy name for the heater controls on your dash, sometimes the switches become defective and will not operate the heater.

Passat problem

The climate control issue is most likely the air temperture blend door motor has quit working or the ac is low on Freon from a leak, also the control head can cause this problem, the vibration may be from hard engine mounts, when the rubber in the mounts ages it gets hard and does not absorb vibration as well, the pulsation is a low voltage issue and you should have the alternator tested.

2004 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT V6 NO HEAT LAST YEAR HEAT WOULD BARELY GET WARM THIS YEAR I TURN ON HEAT AND GET NOTHING BUT AIR A/C CAR HAS CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT

Had this problem after replacing water pump. Hard system to bleed. small bleeders on heater hoses and one near the front of the engine.
VW vortex has a post on cooling system bleeding. check to see if both heater hoses are hot. if so check the climate control: push econ and mode at the same time. it will give you codes. The blend door can be checked for freedom of movement.
