Could remove & clean the valve body & then
if your still having problems, work on codes if
you have any, or possibly solenoids

I think it is close to rebuild time though

Either transmission oil pump is on its way out or reverse circuit is clogged , reverse shift solenoid is defective TCM may be defective , transmission range sensor begining to fail or manual shift valve and pressure regulator are defective.

Suggest taking the vehicle to a transmission repair shop they will diagnosis it and repair it.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge ram -2500 automatic. transmission slow

sounds like filter could be clogged, if it hasn't been changed in a while. you can try to replace throttle position sencer, it is like your old trans kinkenge system, only now, it is elect. it tells trans when to shift, like your speed sencer on trans doe's. both can make it act like it is.

SOURCE: 2001 f350 v10 automatic transmission will not engage gears

You may have a shift cable on that model. If the either end of the shift cable has come loose, then the movement of the shifter will do nothing underneath your truck. You need to have a helper move the shift lever while someone goes under the truck to see if the cables move.

Some of the trucks use Electric shift Solenoids. The PCM is a Powertrain Management device and there is a relay. I imagine if this part is not working, there would be no power to activate the Electric shift Solenoids and that could explain why your truck does not move.

It's transmission time,Nissans are known for there transmissions that don't last long, got one, like a tooth ache, gets worst.Dealers don't like doing major work, just oil changes, tire, tuneups, etc.,will tell you something like your a step child.Go to a reputable transmission shop and let them drive or they might know the history of your Frontier,if Daniel Boone was around,he would know, what do you think?

2001 nissan frontier is blowing ignition fuses when you let out on the clutch in first gear and reverse

Hi Brent,

Wow! That is a dilema! The only thing I can think of is that there is possibly a wiring harness that is rubbed through and when the engine rocks when the clutch is engaged, the wiring harness is shorting to ground. If you can tell me exactly WHICH fuse is blowing I can possibly help you to locate the source of the problem. Please also include WHICH ENGINE your Nissan is equipped with and let me know if it is 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.

2001 impala shifting issue

I have a 2001 base impala and 6 months ago I experienced the same problem. I was driving on the street and all of a sudden my car acted as if it was in neutral. I pulled over and neither of the shifts engaged. The dealership said that my torque converter went bad. Somehow the bad torque converter caused shavings to get into my transmission. They gave me a new torque converter and flushed my transmission. My transmission was almost 2 years old; therefore, it was under warranty.
