So we have a 2011 Kia Forte Koup ex, brand new when my husband got it, and we have an issue where when you turn the key forward to start it, it gets stuck in that position, with the car turning over, but running, and not of the accessories [like the clock and radio] turning on. It's easily fixed by turning it back into the correct position once it has been started, but it's still annoying and it's getting worse. When my husband bought the car, it would stick sometimes during the summer, so he though it was the heat, now, a year and a half later, it sticks every time it is turned on. What is causing this?
SOURCE: i have a 2002 kia rio cinco. i drove the car to
it all sounds like a loose cable or a dirty one at the battery or the starter
SOURCE: Key wont turn
no it sounds like the ignition clinder is broken or worn down inside either that or maybe the key itself. get a new key made (local hardware store) and try that one if that doesnt work im afraid that you may need a new key and tumbler
SOURCE: 1998 kia sephia, starter kicks in but engine sometimes wont turn.
If it is a manual trans could be nuetral saftey switch but other then that check grounds at the bettery and engine .Still could be starter like you said flat spots on it hope this helps.
SOURCE: I Bought A brand new
If the vehicle is brand new, you should take it back to the dealer and have it repaired under warranty.
