Question about 2008 Pontiac G6 Sedan
Son has an '06 Pontiac G6 with an AM/FM CD player in it. He wanted a radio with an AUX port on it to play his I-pod. Bought a Pontiac G-6 radio off E-bay with the AUX port on it. Pontiac Dealership is telling him that the radio may not work in his car even if they program it. The radio fits in his car and has the same electical connections. Whats the deal?
I had the same problem. You have to buy a bunch of extra parts and even then it probably still wont work. I ended up buying an aux input and hooking it up myself. It took 20 min and sounds great.

Radios are programmed to the vehicle and sometimes they won't reprogram into another vehicle. All you can do is have the dealer try to unlock it, but most won't because of radio theft. They need verification of where the radio came from. E-Bay stuff may or may not be stolen.
