Question about 1988 Chevrolet S-10
I have recently replaced the tranmission and had a full tune up done but my blazer has to warm up for quite awhile before I drive it or it justs keeps dying on me. And then once I do get it going and I stop at a light it takes a little bit to get it going up to speed.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: 97 chevy blazer thermosat
chevy's are pretty strong, but you really need to change that thermostate as soon as possible. if you want to check and see if that's what it really is. take the thermostate and put it in a pan of water on the stove. let the water start boiling for a minuete then take a fork and fish it out if it is working properly it will be open, if not it will still be closed. good-luck ray

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

Hey I had my rotor and all that stuff replaced on my 2000 astro van, Intermittently it would not run, The problem was I hit a puddle one day and water flew up on top of the roter like 3 drops, it created a trace( it was arching) Thats why it was intermittent.Take a look at the cap look for like a discoloration on it clean it and put it back on.Sounds too easy but remember I had all new parts too.

Just a couple of questions before we start, what is you engine displacement, how many miles do you have on the vehicle, is it 2 or 4 wheel drive and is the service engine light on.
Let me know.
