Question about Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

I have a 2004 chevy trailblazer. The turn signals work, but after a minute or so, they stop working. I can turn them off and then they start working again. Also notice this with my hazards. Can anyone help me with this before I start spending money to troubleshoot? Thanks

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic and problem is turn signal goes out

the hazzard switch is together with the turn signals, so if they are not working properly, check hazzard switch. the switch has a built in timer for hazzards and turn signals.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Trailblazer radio and CD player works, but no sound

if you have installed a new cd player in there then the propblem could be that your speaker wires and either touching each other or grounding them selfs out.. pull of the cd player and check to make sure all the speaker wires are covered properly and no bare wires are exposed.. if you still have a factory cd player in it then you will probably need to take it to a dealership to have it checked out..

SOURCE: No Turn Signals, Hazards, or Breaklights

Try replacing the flasher unit, it is usually located on or near the fuse box. This is relatively inexpensive and more likely the cause.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: 99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

There was a recall on this, see your local Chevrolet dealer.... Recall Date: NOV 01, 2004 Model Affected: 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer Summary: ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, VIBRATION AND HEAT MAY CAUSE THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP BULB TO LOOSEN IN ITS SOCKET. IF THIS OCCURS, THE BULB MAY FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY BECOME INOPERATIVE. Consequences: AN INOPERATIVE BRAKE LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION OF STOPPING TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES, AND AN INOPERATIVE REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION TO TURN TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES. BOTH OF THESE FAILURES CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP ASSEMBLIES, AND IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THEM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 22, 2004. I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAK LIGHT NOT WORKING, HAVE CHECK THE BULBS, FUSES, RELAY SWITCH ALL SEEM TO BE OK, STILL WILL NOT WORK. THE TOP BREAK LIGHT IS OK. WHAT ELSE SHOULD I LOOK FOR? THIS...

If the top brake light is working, then the brake light switch on the brake pedal is ok and adjusted properly. GM had major problems with the circuit boards on these....check for power at the circuit boards with the brake pedal depressed.
Also, the brake/stop lamps are wired thru the Turn Signal switch which on this model is the multifunction switch...I have seen this fail many times, it's expensive and not a repair that can be made in a few minutes, takes several hours and a lot of paitence.
Did you check the fuses in the rear fuse box as well?...I suggest you call your dealer or GM direct and see if your vehicle falls under any of these recall notices---i bet it does. If the recall repairs have not been made, then they will do for you at no cost. You will need to have your VIN number ready when you call. Below is a brief description of a recall notice.

Sounds like the blower motor either wore out, or the relay is bad for it.

Good luck on this repair.

I have a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer that just developed a problem with the left turn signal. The left turn signal indicator on the dash is blinking rapidly and the tail light turn signal is out. I change out...

The Trailblazers have a common problem with the printed circuit boards in the tail lamp housing.
Unplug the tail lamp housing at the wiring connector and test for power with a test light. ( With turn signals on) You may have an open circuit in the lamp housing circuit board. Good luck
