Question about 1999 Ford Expedition
Could be the sending unit for fuel level
or other issues
You have to have the factory manuals to learn the
vehicles various systems & strategies
Have to have it checked for all stored codes,if you
didn't clear all data. If you did, then a shop will have
problems helping you, as old stored data my help
or give them a place to start
Any shop you go to,will have to have a data base or
they aren't fixing much

I have been a mechanic for 15 years and have worked on alot of motorhome fuel pumps. 99 percent of the time it is the fuel pump that is bad. if you are getting power at the fuse you more than likely have a bad pump. I understand the thing about the hydraulic jacks they are a pain in the ****. sorry I can't tell you an easier way.

Theres 2 pumps one in the tank, lift pump, and one in the chassis rail under the driver side. The one in the tank is cheap, the one in the rail is not. The one in the tank only produces low pressure to prime the main pump and if it is broken, may not cause that much of an issue except when starting. the one in the rail is a no-start if it fails. The idea is that the rail pump can supply high pressure for the injectors, so a fuel pressure test at the injector rail will determine which pump is playing up. Hope that helps Tim
