SOURCE: need to locate toyota aurion/camry iac valve

the MAF sensor is between the air filter and throttle body. the idle controll is at the throttle body.  Its located on the throttle body on the left side. Follow the air intake to an intake manifold which sits on top of the throttle body.

SOURCE: idle air control valve needs replacing

If it is the IAC then buy one. once you know exactly what it looks like then it should be easy to see it connected to your throttle body. Look at the new one to find out where potential bolt holes are and now you know where they are on the car as well. If the check engine light is still on after you replace it try disconnecting your battery cables for a few minutes and it should reset your computer and turn the light off.

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak or intake gaskets leaking. Try this. Start the engine and let it reach the idle it want to go to. Get you a can of Brake Clean and spray it around the intake manifold (it on the top center of the engine, you may have to removed a plastic cover) If the engine idle changes up or down then the intake gaskets are leaking hence your vacuum leak. I hope this will help you.

Camry Idle Air Control Valve Cleaning

The problem may be a dirty idle air control valve. Watch the video to see how you can clean it. To confirm if the problem is with the idle air control valve or some other component, have the car scanned for trouble codes. Auto Zone or Advance Auto will do a scan. If codes do come up, you can find more extensive information about them by looking them up on the web. Just do a search "trouble code...." and just plug in the code.

    High idle when started

Either the idle air control valve has malfunctioned (this best treated by cleaning, they are expensive), or the air con idle-up vacuum switching valve has failed. If testing this, do so hot, as that is when they malfunction.

How to clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve

I typically remove them to clean but they can be cleaned on the car. Get throttle body cleaner from the store and spray all over. Manually open the butterfly valve and wipe after. I would take the idle air control vavle off to clean it.

1987 Toyota Camry. Idle doesn't drop. Stays very high. No clue why. Also goes through a lot of gas and found out muffler and catalytic converter aren't hooked up. Ideas of where to start?

check your vacume hoses and if iyt has an idle controll valve that is off of the air intake. that should be the only things that would effect it

1997 toyota camry V6 high idle

The idle is controlled by the car's computer, so it is getting wrong signals, or its controller is faulty. This is the Idle Air Control Valve, which may need cleaning or replacing. IAC is expensive, about $150, so try cleaning first. See here p271

Also possible is a failed A/C idle up vacuum switching valve (VSV), See p67, 209 and 295 in the above link. If testing this, do so when hot, as that is when they fail.

How do i adjust idle for 1989 toyota camry

Its not exactly adjustable, its controlled by the computer by using the idle air control valve.
If the idle speed is too high, you may have a vac leak, or the idle air control valve may be faulty.

1991 Toyota Camry 4cyl idles at 1300 RPM... There is no idle adjustment screw. bad sensor of some sort? Can't pass my smog because the idle is too high. Runs okay otherwise.

look for a vacuum leak into the intake manifold (possible brake booster vac leak), check the idle air control valve for proper operation, check for EGR valve with bad diaphragm or stuck open.

    Idles to high

You may need an Idle Air Control Valve (a common problem), I would also change the thermostat as well. If its reading cold it will cause the car to idle high.
