The Panel Dimmer Control used to brighten the instrument panel also controls the dome lamp. Rotate the thumb wheel fully to the right, past the detent, dome light locks on. Try rotating it to the left.

The lights to the dashboard

It may be something even simpler.
Nearly every car has away of dimming the dashboard lights - and on many it's REALLY easily to accidentally bump the wheel or dial that dims them all the way off without even realizing it.
Typically there is either a knob to turn, or a wheel to rum your thumb over - and it is located near the headlight switch. On the Explorer, it should be a wheel that you push up or down with your thumb, directly to the right of the headlight knob.
Try running your thumb against it to push it all the way up. Chances are this will bring your dash lights back to full brightness.

Loose lights when turn on highbeam and no dash lights at all

Hello

The dash lights brightness are controlled by a dimmer rheostat in the dashner the headlight switch, it is a thumb wheel or similar type of switch. It is either defective or you have turned it down so far that the lights are off. This is very common for drivers to do this.

97 dodge caravan shows "traction off" all of the time - how do i engage the traction control, i don't have the manual. Electrical seems a little screwy - also, if you turn the van off with the headlights...

The traction control switch is to the right of the steering wheel. The switch must be turned off every time the engine is restarted, prior to dyno testing.

Yes ,

There is a short in the wirng, The dealer is going to have to trace the wirng harness to find the short. The problem is the short could be anywhere. The time to find the short could be hard.

02/03 C220 headlights electronic adjustment

rtcasper Clarification Request; It is the electrical adjustment (Thumb wheel Adj on facia panel) that is not functioning not the mechanical adjustment on the head lights (Plastic cross head screw adjust L/R and U/D). The thumb wheel is usually a potentiometre adjusting a control voltage applied to the head light motor. On the Merc I can't see the motor and wonder if vertical head light adjustment is vacumme operated, where the vacumme pump is located or where i can get access to the wire loom to trace it though as I don't see how to get behind the facia. ANy suggestions as to how to get to and proove which bits are working? At the moment the headlights are adjusted to point correctly by the mechanical adjustment but this does not enable me to lower the lamps easily when I put a load in the boot.
