From Carfax:

Salvage Title — A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds ~ 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven states also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.

Can I buy a car that has been in a flood w/o a title problem?

If there is still a lien from borrowing money to purchase the car, he will need to get you a clear title.

Forms and signatures are tedious at the motor vehicles office - you can try calling or emailing them before waiting in the lines but unknown what days are best to try.

Hyundai Tucson KMH581BP9U096391 I think its like 14 $ to do it. Why? does it have a salvage title? If your buying a car this is a good site because you can find out if someone messed with odometer or if has been in an accident how many owners ect. You can do multiple cars with membership.

that really depends on youre state and their laws. some have fines and long with proof that everything is fixed, others wont even bother.

Interested in purchasing a 1996 Chevy Cavalier.

the fuel pump for your vehicle new will run about 120 dollars. a new tank will be about 200-400 dollars. how ever you can probably go to a salvage yard and get a used tank and pump for about a 100 dollars labor will be about 3 hrs free if you do it your self or about 300 dollars at a shop. a decent battery is about 50-70 dollars. to get a replace ment title is not a p[roblem other than having to stand in line at the DMV and costs about 15 dollars

I need a corolla 2003-2005 under $7,000. where can i get one like that?

It's not impossible. You may find some luck with the more popular car buying sites such as or
For that price, I would find private owners that are selling the car rather than dealers and bring cash. I got a really good deal on a 2003 S model.
More than likely, you will end up buying a CE model, which only lacks the power features but have the same engine and transmission as all the other models. You may want to also look at the Chevy Prizms which share the engine & transmission as the toyota. They stopped making these in 2002. Good luck,

I am in the process of purchasing a 1995 Honda Accord that apparently has to have the radio code reentered due to a dead battery. The vehicle has a salvaged title and I don't know who the previous owner...

salvage title ?? Get a car fax report on the car and contact the last several owners.. buy a different car.. you are just asking for a hard expensive time.
