Question about Infiniti I35
I just bought a new 2002 I35. I have a vibration under throttle pedal in highway. Even when the car is stopped, I can feel a very small vibration. The front tires are new, but rear are old. Also, When I put the transmission on Drive (D) and start to move, I hear a little ghikhhhh sound for half a second and that's it! It is like releasing a spring with a friction to something else! I am a little worried about this! the behavior of the transmission is good all the times, but I am worried about this sound. The previous owner was a private party and said that this sound is here for more than a year without problem, but I like to know if there is a problem with this and anything that I should take care of?

Just in case you are still having an issue.
There is a suspension mount on the right side of the engine bay just under the timing cover. Remove the right front wheel and the two 10mm plastic nuts in the fender liner. Now pull back the fender liner. Using a flash light you should be staring at the crankshaft harmonic balancer (big round circular pulley that has a large bolt, 21mm, in the middle and four smaller, 10mm, bolts around it).
Just under the pulley there is an engine mount turned sideways. Use your flashlight and a mirror if you can't get a good look at it, Most likely you will see that the rubber is pushed apart and in pieces. The upper portion of the mount that bolts to the engine with 13mm bolts will be sitting on the sub frame. There is supposed to be rubber between the upper portion and the frame. Just look closely because from time to time it will just sink into the mount and may look ok unless you look close.
If the mount is ok then you will need to take it to a Volvo shop. There are a couple of service bulletins for vibration and harshness on early (1998-2000 awd cars). They relate to some adjustments or shim instillation on the left side mount, but I can't remember the settings off the top of my head.
I hope this helps.

I had a similar problem. The dealer change automatic transmission and differential, but the noise continu. After research on internet i think the problem is the front galiper who create a vibration on the disc wheel and the vibration frequence follow the front axle until interior car. Just press slowly the brake pedal and if the noise stop , that's it the cause i think. I dont change my galiper, but i have a new transmission . :)))

Hello mpolci...The 2003 Tiburon was sold to the public with a defective clutch, it failed due to warpage and bad pressure plate... among other things. There are MANY class action lawsuits. Did you resurface or replace the flywheel when the clutch was replaced? Did you go with an aftermarket clutch kit, or factory? Also the slave cylinder on the 03 was known to have a defective valve.
You can try checking the levels and bleeding the system and if you still have problems, then it could be a release bearing, a loose clutch pad, or a broken pressure plate spring....If the clutch is still under warranty, i would return it to the installer.
Good luck, i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.
