SOURCE: Replacing V5 a.c. compressor on

The amount of oil that you add depends on exactly how much came out of the compressor. For example if the system is to have 14 oz, and the compressor is to have 4 oz, and when you measure, the compressor has 2 oz, that means the SYSTEM is 1/2 way down, or 7 oz short. I prefer to flush all oil out and reload.

Be sure to replace the receiver dryer anytime that you open the A/C system, then vacuum purge and leak test at about -30 inches for 30 minutes.

SOURCE: replacing a/c compressor and accumulater

Usually an ounce is more than enough to add to the accumulator. Same thing if you where to replace the condensor or evaporator.

If you wanted you could dump the oil from the old accumulator into a cup and then add that same amount to the new one but an ounce would be the norm.

SOURCE: replacing compressor, accumulator and orifice

Look for a light blue label in the engine compartment, the refrigerant capacity and oil capacity are on that label. But, being a '97, that label might be long gone. That information can also be found in a service manual. Manuals can be purchased at parts stores and you might even find one at a library. You could also call a dealer's service department and ask them.

there will be no need to put oil in an ac compressor
new compressors already have oil in them and old units have the oil through out the ac system that comes back in with the gas.

How much pag oil goes into a new ac compressor.

For the R134 A/C system on this van the amount of PAG oil is 7.4 oz. Adding too much oil will reduce the cooling ability of the system.

How much oild to put in the ac compreeser

unless you are changing a new compressor you should not have to add any oil in there. Do not put oil since the compressor already has enough oil in it. If you put oil in there and it already has oil, the AC system will not function properly because it has too much oil. How much oil to put in there is determined how much is already in there.

It is going to be 134A (134). You also use 7.75 oz of PAG Oil for your ac compressor.

Good luck.

Im installing a new a/c compressor and i need to add oil and i need to know how much. Its a 1997 suburban with the rear evaporater.

11 OZ of PAG 150 oil Follow Compressor instructions to see how much to add to New Compressor and the balance should be poured into the NEW Accumulator and change the orifice tube in the front near Y split after the condensor on the high pressure side.

Total Amount of AC PAG oil needed for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport

Do you have the old compessor? Drain out what is in there and use that amount as a guide + 1 oz. There is no ratio per se. As long as you are close without being crazy low (none) or crazy high (over flowing), you're good.
