How do i replace the transmission in my dodge 2000 Caravan

You have to use a 4x4 and chain on top to support the motor while you take off the lower a-frame on the bottom. Then you can remove the tranny from the bottom while the motor is being held up by the 4x4 and chain.

Leak transmission fluid dodge caravan 1996

chances are it's the gasket around the tranny pan. you'll have to remove the pan, gently scrape off the old gasket (without scratching the metal surface), replace with new gasket, replace the pan. put all the screws half-way in, then tighten screws across from each other.

Transmission in 2000 dodge caravan does not change from second gear

Remove the bolts around the tranny pan, leaving the forward two or three in but loose. The seal is RTV so it will stay on until you break it loose. Once the pan is loose and the fluid is drained off a bit, remove the two or three remaining bolts and the pan. The filter snaps into place on the valve body. Pop the filter loose, more fluid will fall, and clean the pan and sealing surface. Reinstall the filter, use RTV sealer on the pan and reinstall. The only real danger to be aware of is the four quarts of fluid splashing uncontrollably on you as you break the pan loose. I hope this helps.

2000 dodge caravan how to remove halfshafts

Its just held in place with a snap-ring on the end. Use a pry bar and try to pry it out, if not successful use a Big long flat screw driver or a long extension bar and a hammer and tap axle out from tranny. It would come right out but you should have a pan to cat transmission fluid some will come out. (rember to refill tranny) Good Luck contact if you need more help.

2000 dodge caravan engine and transmission swap

Although the transmission may be siilar, the engine and supporting wiring harness, and control modules are not. This can be done, anything can, but it is probably more trouble than it's worth for a mini van. If this was a classic car then sure.

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan

Its a solenoid pack, not like a starter solenoid that you may be used to, so be very sure you know what your doing otherwise you may be walking soon. I believe it's on the side of transmission, driver side, with wiring harness attached & covering it. You might be smart to visit an auto recycler & see one with tranny out before you proceed. At least that way you know what your looking for.
