Remember, what is heard as turbocharger noise may not be caused by a noisy turbocharger. Before replacing a turbocharger perform the following diagnosis.
A. If a loud whine or whistle is heard during acceleration and increases or decreases with rpm and load. This condition is most often the result of a loose clamp/hose at the turbocharger compressor outlet, charge air cooler inlet, outlet or at the intake manifold.

1. With the engine running at idle and the transmission in Park or Neutral with the parking brake set, feel for boost air escaping at each connection between the turbocharger compressor outlet and intake manifold. For limited access areas, spray soapy water on those connectors and look for bubbles.

2. Check the exhaust manifold and exhaust system for leaks.

I have a 2004 nissan navara str 3 Lt turbo diesel. I have a problem with the front brakes not releasing. Have already replaced the calipers have vacuum. Has me stumped please help.


very possible a faulty master cylinder not allowing brake fluid to return to the reservoir
disc pads are in constant touch with the disc and require air speed to hold the pads off the disc ( there are no return springs etc to do the job)
if they are not allowed to move the brake fluid heats up and if not allowed to expand back to the reservoir , push the pads onto the disc Hence your problem

Not familiar with the wiring on this car, but generally, check wiring plug-in to dash, fuses, fusible link, or the cluster itself may have failed (probably can be fixed).

After disconnecting the battery, check your ground wire connections and your positive cable connections to starter. They could be coroded and loose. I believe their is a celinoid relay after the battery make shure that is clicking if not replace if needed.
