1994 Toyota SR5 Pick-up keeps stalling out

My husband has a 1994 Toyota SR5 4X4 pick-up that will act like it wants to stall out in the middle of driving. It lurches forward a few times and then drives okay. The other night it finally died completely, meaning that it cut off, while doing this. It started back up, but it would die as soon as it was put in gear and gas was applied to the gas pedal. After sitting for a while (like 15 minutes) he could put it in gear and drive again. The mechanic can't figure out what the deal is. He's hooked it up to a computer and it isn't throwing any codes. Any ideas? This is getting frustrating.

You have to explain in detail what was checked & how
by the mechanic

I would start with checking fuel pressure at the motor with
a gauge & road test with the gauge tied to a wiper

Is the battery any good?

Was the TPS Sensor back probed & checked?

You got a MAP Sensor on it,that could be a problem?

Checked EGR System over good

Checked alternator voltage, current & diode leakage.

Bad ignition switch?

Fuel pump relay?

Coolant temp sensor

Have to test the entire vehicle Evap System also

Vacuum leaks

Exhaust Leaks

Meachanical Condition --cylinder leak down test

SOURCE: 1999 toyota tacoma Sr5 won't start

Check for fuel pressure when starting. Fuel pumps have a check valve in them that keep fuel in the rail at the injectors. If the check valve fails, the pump has to pump fuel all of the way up to the engine. Same thing with hot no-restarts. Fuel pump.

89 toyota sr5 v6 4x4 automatic will not shift into O/D. Thebutton for O/D clicks and dash light comes on but it is not doing shifting.

still working on my identical problem with 1983 toyota truck, started not shifting into odints OD switch lite is on. Figured out thermostat sometimes is the problem as the engine isnt warming up enuff. changed (bad frozen) thermo and hose, no change.

Then figured viscious clutch was frozen. Found fan rotated a blade or two when cold, but was not freewheeling or easy. Started truck cold, and noted lot of air movement from fan which seemed more when revved up. couldnt stall fan with rolled up newspaper. after warming up for less than 5 minutes, noted change in engine speed, and much less air movement from fan. Now could stall fan with rolled up newspaper. However, fan was now easy to move by hand, and easily rotated about half way.

Now suspecting one of the solinoids, and trying to dope that out....hope this helps
