Question about 1994 Lexus Es 300

Car air con misfunction

I am in Western Australia where we are currently having a heat wave,my car air con air flow fluctuates between settings so that the air flow goes from feet, to W/screen, to face, & around the dial setting even tho I might have it set @ facial flow,it automatically changes with the different vacuum manifold pressure,I am thinking it is the vacuum control valve or something similar, can someone tell me where to find the module?PLEASE.I drive a 1994 Holden acclaim vr auto sedan, which I think is the same as a Lexus

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is located in the stream of intake air and measures this intake flow rate by measuring a part of the entire intake flow. It is what they call a hot film and is supplied with electric current from the Engine Control Module (ECM).
The temperature of the hot film is controlled by the ECM to a certain extent. The heat generated by the hot film is reduced as the intake air flows around it. The more air, the greater the heat loss. Therefore, the ECM must supply more electric current to maintain the temperature of the hot film as air flow increases. The ECM detects the air flow by means of this current change.
The OBDII people suggest that before you replace the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with compressed air or by using a cleaner on the mass air flow sensor. Truly, all that may be wrong is a build-up of dirt.Unfortunately, in your case, replacing the Mass Air Flow did not work. After replacement, did you reset the code and drive the vehicle?.
I suggest you replace the air filter and check for intake air leaks.YouTube has some good videos on how to do this, one by Eric the car guy and one by Scottie Kilmer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CPqbaSgcokhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMok2y05jNE

Here is the meaning of the code.

P0101 GMC Description The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is placed in the stream of intake air. It measures the intake flow rate by measuring a part of the entire intake flow. It consists of a hot film that is supplied with electric current from the Engine Control Module (ECM).

The temperature of the hot film is controlled by the ECM acertain amount. The heat generated by the hot film is reduced as the intake air flows around it. The more air, the greater the heat loss. Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Intake air leaks
- Dirty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor electrical circuit poor connection

No heat coming out of the blowers on 2003 Buick Rendezvous. Blowers blowing cold air. Temperature gauge fluctuating over and under mid-range

Hi,
This is a problem with the heat exchange valve which will need to be replaced, this switches the hot water flow on and off. Thanks

You have a leak in your air conditioning compressor Your system works on the reheat principle All air passing through the system is cooled and reheated before it enters the cabin this sould be dehumidified air but it passes through the heater core and sence the air is not dehumidified you are getting condansation as the air flows the heater core that is heated by the engine heat and the water is from condencation because of the leak in the ac compressor The unit is a press fit in the center of it and fials unfortinatly a lot with this disgien of compressor

My auxiliary heating turns off automaticly after 3mins then turns on after another 3 mins, what can i do to solve this? , i dont think its the timer setting from the power source. I got a volvo 244 gl -81

I live in Western Australia so prefer A/C to more heat. I don't like Volvos and a 1991 model is past its expiry date. Sorry but you have to make the brave decision!

Heat blowing Cold when in drive. When in Park, it is warm

have you chg. any thing lately like thermostate? added any coolent to system? if not, thermostate could be stuck in the open position. if stuck open, setting still, it will throw heat, but moving coolent flows to fast and does not get a chance to get hot. if you did chg. thermostate it could have a air pocket in the system. and also adding coolent can create an air pockets too. you will know this when your traveling down the road and temp guage fluctuates up and down. witch means air in system.
