I have an 05 TB. I have replaced the idler pulley twice in the three years I owned it. Cheap and quick fix. Call your dealer and get the part. Problem is that the part comes with the whole bracket. Take the pulley of the new part and put it on the existing bracket already on your vehicle. 30 minute fix.

pretty simple really take the belt off and the pulley is held on with a 12mm or 14mm bolt and then put it all back together the way it came apart. hope this has helped you and good luck with you project !

sounds like idler bearings but you have to release the tension to check,Also you can check the rest of the pulleys also at this time. I dont think you have to drop the engine.
