Not without someone scanning the computer for trouble codes.
Once you have the codes you can start testing.

Most auto parts stores can also check for codes, but keep in mind they are doing it for free in hopes of selling you some parts.

SOURCE: Warning lights won't go off.

You need to have a code scanner hooked to the car to find out why the lights are on, if there is an auto zone or advanced auto near you, go there and ask them if they can hook one up, or call around to see who can do it.

SOURCE: How do I install alt. belt on 2005 scion xb?

I just looked at my '04 xB. It looks very straight forward.
loosen the bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket.
carefully slide the alt to the bottom. (Also be aware of the plug and wires on the alt. They should never hold the weight of the alternator. You dont want them breaking prematurely.)
Pull the belt off, remove the belt from the crank shaft pulley.

Do the reverse, and you will have replaced the belt.

Make sure to check the belt in about a week or so.
New belts will stretch over time. Make sure you keep the tension tight enough to work correctly, but not so tight that the alernator shaft is warped.
I usually place the new belt on both pulleys and give a good "medium" pull on the alt while tightening. Find the middle of the belt and squeeze them together, depending on the type and length of the belt, there should be about 1/4" of flex on both sides.

SOURCE: my 2006 scion xb vsc, traction, and check engine

I had the same problem. The cause (at least on my box) was a bad charcoal canister and the valve going to it. These go bad on the boxes fairly often. If you "top off" your tank, the overflow spills down into the charcoal canister and it will not function properly. IE: Engine, Trac, and VSC lights come on. It doesnt hurt it to drive with a bad canister, but you will lose mileage and that light will be staring you in the face every time you drive. The parts are pricey, dealer only parts and the canister is about $400. I found a totalled xb with a good canister and nabbed it for $40.....solved my problem. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: the Check Engine light, VSC light, and Trac light

On these cars and Toyotas also, if the engine computer sees an emissions problem, it will illuminate all of these lights. As long as the check engine light isn't flashing and it's not running funny, you should be ok to finish your trip. Keep in mind the traction control may not work if you were to get into a situation where it could be helpful. Recommend checking the gas cap to be sure it is tight, it should click 3 times minimum.

Remote starter only allows my starter to turn over twice; needs at least 3 with my key. How to adjust to have it starter run longer on remote?

I know you are looking to have the remote starter run a third time but I would say you need to look at your Fuel Pressure Regulator on the Scion. Sounds like it is not holding fuel pressure at the fuel rail and that is why it requires a third Crank

Trouble code poo12 for 2004 scion xb

I can tell you what the code means, but you will probably need a shop manual to get the diagnostic chart.
Code 12 means the cam sensor for bank one is not showing the cam timing where it should be compared to the crank.
Since that engine uses a timing chain instead of a belt, the problem could be the camshaft or the cam timing solenoid.

How many Speed sensors are in a 2005 scion xb

As far as i know, thee is only one speed sensor. It is located on your transmission. It is on the right side of you engine, underneath the air cleaner. Just a sensor, and easy to replace. Should take you less then an hour. There also might be one on you ABS system, but i am not aware of it on a Scion.

My 2005 Scion XB is running hot, engine cooling fan comes on for a few seconds (about 30) then goes off. It is also losing antfreeze. Help!

have someone do a compression check for you ,, this will tell you if you have serious problems such as a bad head gasket ,, Look for obvious signs of a coolant leak,, does your exhaust smell like coolant? also check the fan relay, it may be worn or faulty causing it to stop too early in the cooling process, when you first start the motor, with the engine cool remove the radiator cap and keep looking inside the radiator , once it warms up,, ( this may take a while) do you see coolant movement ? you should which would mean the thermostat is working , Opening and closing , if not you may need to change that ,, which would mean the car is losing coolant through the over flow

The dealer told me it was a little dirt speck of dirt in the timing gear and it would cost almost a thousand dollars to fix it. So I just disconnect the neg battery cable for 2 minutes and reconnect. The light stays out for about 4-6 months. when it comes on again I just repeat the steps.

Check engine

It means your air filter is loose. I had the same thing happen to me a few days after I had an oil change. I took it to the dealership and they said it happens all the time, especially if you have the oil changed by someone not experienced in dealing with Scions.
