My ef fairmonts battery isnt charging and when i have it running the ignition lights turn off then it dies not long after

your alternator is bad replace the alternator is draining your battery. whe n your is low it doesnt have enough cranking d starter.

It is time to have it serviced and the turned off.

Eg wipers work while ignition switched to 'accessories' but stop when key turned to 'start'

I had this issue and took me ages and ages of wire tracing and probing. Your fuse box should have the wiper/windows accessories fuses. If you probe them and they aren't showing voltage, check wiring harness, check wiper motor voltage. My ignition barrel was the fault of all this, everything worked when switched to "accessories", but while the engine was running, the accessories turned off. The bottom of the ignition barrel pushed out, as the factory stopper groove bent out. All I did was cold chisel a dent back into the case. BAM fixed my windows/starting/wipers all in one go.

Might mean your alternator isnt charging correctly or your battery just needs to be replaced, take it to local auto parts store, they check for free

when you jump start it it runs then you disconnect the cable and it dies? hope this is right. the alternator could be bad and the battery isnt getting a charge so it dies from running low on battery power.hope this helps

It sounds like that not only is the battery totally dead ,due to a high very internal resistance, but that the alternator has very low output. While car is idling in neutral, the alternator has just enough output to supply the ignition circuits but once in gear and the idle speed drops there is insufficient voltage to run engine so it stalls, It is the same when the lights are turned on as the alternator cannot supply enough to run lights so engine dies without enough drive for the ignition circuits. Try another battery or install a new one. Also have the alternator output checked as it could be the cause of the battery dying in the first place because it has not been maintaining charge as you drive. The alternator problem would be caused by either worn brushes and / or a faulty electonic voltage regulator which is mounted inside the alternator with the brushes.

if there is any startup noise than it is the matter of spark plug but if there is not at all noise or action while ignition than there woul be three problem either a ignition wire had been cut off or the battery terminal have any loose contacts or the ignition switch was malfunctioning.................please check the things

the ABS computer isnt getting proper voltage, so its malfunctioning. the alternator is causing this. worry not, my friend...

There can be a couple of causes for no spark.
Common problem - Ignition unit in distributor has failed - Replace distributor.
Common problem - Coil failure - Replace coil.
Common Problem - Stuck ECU relay - indicated by no pulsing of injectors and no spark - replace relay.
