If it is random, it may be a bad clock spring.

Why wont my airbag light go off? Go to see an auto-electrician if the airbag light still won't turn off. A worn-out clock spring inside your airbag's control module, a dead backup airbag battery, or a corroded terminal inside the airbag system are commonly the reasons why the airbag light is illuminating. In rare cases, your airbag may need to be serviced.

The light for the Airbag/SRS system is on because the system control module has sensed a fault and turned off the airbag SRS system. What you must do now is have a scan done of the airbag module to see what fault codes show up in the airbag modules memory.

airbag light on means some DTCs stored in your airbag,
so you should get a airbag reset tool to do your car,meybe B800 BMW airbag reset tool can do your car.

{: ) If the airbag light goes off after that 7 blinks (some are 6 or 8), that will be normal. The airbag module will blink the airbag warning light on the cluster while performing self-test during initial start-ups. After the self-test and the airbag module did not detect any fault within the airbag system, it will turn the warning light off. If the airbag warning light continuously blink or stayed lit after the expected elapse time, then there is really a concern and you need to double check the airbag system with a scan tool.

check alternator out put should be at 13.8 volts or close with engine runing
battery should raed 12.8 volts engine stop and all off
then load test battery and if this pass load test alternator
check all positive wires at battery for tight and clean
also all grounds

did it come with air bags? if not then the answer is no you can't retrofit the truck.

If your airbag light comes on it means its not working. Some of the newer airbag systems have weight sensors under the seats and anything lodged under them can disable the passenger airbag and possibly cause the light to go on. If there are no other symptoms, and nothing impeding the airbags then the car thinks the airbag wont work. If you are concerned for your son's safety, take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check/replace your airbag. Good Luck!

your car will bottom out if air leaks out.

there are two options replace the airbags with new airbags
or replace with crown vic coil springs.
I recently bought new air bags from ebay brand new for like 230 for set
these were from arnott suspension and were very nice quality lifetime warranty

if you look on ebay you will see the conversion kit for coil springs also

This is either a problem with one or both of your airbags or the airbag connector located at the back of the glovebox has been disconnected for some reason. (ie. to prevent airbag opening when installing baby seat) (1999 miata does not have a baby seat airbag disabling sensor).

You should get your car inspected at your local mazda service to check if this is a wiring (plug disconnected) issue or one of your airbags is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Flashing airbag light could indicate that either one of the airbags or both have a problem. Disconnecting the passenger's airbag has the same effect.

Warning! Do NOT attempt to do any kind of airbag/airbag wiring related repair yourself. Airbag problems should be addressed ONLY by certified technicians at your local Mazda service. (Airbag fixing requires for example that the car battery is disconnected, you MUST NOT attempt anything with the car battery connected).
