Top bolt on starter is stripped, how can it be removed with only basic tools

You may have to break the starter off the remaining bolt to get access to it.Bolts can be removed by,hammering a smaller socket on to it or cut a line across it it remove it with a screwdriver and wrench or hammer it to loosen it for easier removal or vice grips/heat or use a LEFT HAND drill which will drill and try to remove the bolt at the same time and of course easy outs in a drilled hole in the bolt.

If the bolt head is rounded off you can get a socket made to remove stripped bolts through Autozone / Advance stores. The socket is made to bite into the rounded off bolt head.

Rocker arms stripping breaking 2003 pontiac grand am v6

This would not be a head issue. If bolts are stripping and they are using heli coils, it is the block that has the issue unless these are manifold bolts for the exhaust.

All 4 bolts which connect a steel frame underneath in between the two rear wheels continue to grip when tightened then break loose as if they got stripped. I loosened them before repairing badly damaged...

Good ol` Toyota yet another f---k up!!!!! There is no cheap way of overcoming this problem unless you have a tame welder. The nuts you are refering to are captive fixed unfortunatly they corrode and break out of thier fixings they will have to be cut out and new nuts welded in..SORRY for the bad news....

How to take head off2003 Buick Lasabre

This is not easy. You need to drain the coolant. You need to unhook the battery and remove the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold. You need to remove the ignition parts and the fuel lines, you need to then remove the valve covers and the head bolts. Pry the head off the block. Check for warp on the head, clean the surfaces and reassemble, That is if nothing goes wrong. Head and manifold bolts can get stuck or break off, they can strip out the threads on the block. You are better off taking it to a shop.

Transmissiom fluid leak

The 2 most common places to investigate a transmission fluid leak are:
  1. Transmission lines
  2. Transmission gasket on the transmission pan
If possible, get under the car with a flashlight and inspect the transmission lines as they leave the transmission. Look for moist points usually around the fittings themselves. On the gasket, look for seepage which will occur most commonly around the bolts holding the pan up. They are a common trouble spot. If you see seepage you can sometimes stop it by tightening the bolt. Be careful not to overtighten any bolt for risk of breaking or stripping it.

I have Mercedes c240 2002 ... my transmission fluid was leaking... when the mechanic check the pan and the lines and seal there where no leaks ... he cleaned everything off and I drove it 10 miles and came...

the most common place for those transmissions to leak is the actual electronic connector comming out of the front bellow the bellhousing, the connector is available although i must warn you that the connector bolts in to the "conductor plate" the transmissions internal (made of plastic) computer which can break during this repair as the center bolt can strip and the only way to get it out is to break it, breaking the computer
good luck

I was trying to remover rear right brake wheel cylinder and now one of the 2 bolt heads is stripped any tips on how to remove the stripped bolt

You can do whatever to that bolt to remove it because the new cylinder will have fresh threads. For instance after removing the other 2 fasteners just pry the WC off. the bolt is not thick and should break easily. You will need a new bolt tho. Those damaged bolt sockets work sometimes too.

Problems removing rear brakes on a volvo s40 2001

Due to the heat cause when breaking it can be difficult to remove so the best thing to do is leave the spray to penetrate for about ten minutes then go back and carefully apply pressure with a ratchet rather than a spanner.
