something might be stuck in the ducting not allowing the door to move and direct air flow to the other ducts. First pull straight on the nob and pull it off of the dash. then take a pair of pliers and make sure the smell metal peg will rotate.

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

If the fan runs in the defrost position then the fan is fine. It sounds like a control head problem or computer problem. Did you tell them it worked on Defrost. The A/C is suppose to run when you select defrost to defog windows in the winter.
