Question about 1995 Mercury Cougar
I recently replaced the battery in my 95 cougar xr7 (with the V8), hooked up the new battery, had all the lights etc but car would not turn over, not even a click. After a bit, I let the car sit for 30 seconds, tried again and it started right up. After that, it started EVERY time. Today I removed the battery connectors long enough to put on some red/green 'corrosion rings', hooked the battery back up and same situation: I have all the lights etc but starter will not turn over, not even a click. I let is set for 30 seconds, tried again, still no change. It's like something needs to be reset when you change the battery. I have replaced batteries on OTHER cars and have never run across this. Any ideas?
