Question about 2005 Toyota Sienna

Open Question

I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna. The heater fuse (10A) keeps blowing. I have noticed my stereo acting peculiar. If I press the preset radio station buttons it will shut off. Is this related? Help. I have burned through 4 fuses.

p.287 of my Toyota Sienna Owner's Manual corresponds to "Launguage Code List" for the DVD player. The only information listed for fuses are on pages 459 & 486. I had to look up a fusebox diagram for the the box located under the steering column online. As I stated previously, I have replaced the 10A fuse for the "HTR" position 4 times. It blows when I start the car. Are you referring to the 15A fuse for the "P/VENT" position? Is this position #32?

SOURCE: where is the fuse for the radio.....2001 sienna

There are two fuses for the radio...RADIO No. 1 and RADIO no. 2

RADIO No 1 is under the hood in the engine compartment fuse box

RADIO no. 2 in in the fusebox under the dash, on the left side of the instrument panel.

The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Corolla Radio fuse

Pg. 250 of your 2005 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.
This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.
Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.

SOURCE: Toyota error code P2118

I don't have a Sienna but I do have a 2008 Toyota Camry SE. After it being in the garage for many months, 8 months I think, I had to give the battery a jump to finally start it up. Well The jumper cables I used weren't that great. They flickered and seemed to smoke a little. So i removed them and put a better set on to get a charge. I didn't think anything of it. After that charge came through and i was able to accelerate at all... The throttle was to the floor and the car would not even go up .5 RPMs... After several days and talking to the dealer, I was about to call a Tow to have it taken to the dealer. Luckily my friend came by with one of those diagnostic readers and it spit out the P2118 error code. Immediately we looked it up and found this site. Thanks to Fixya.com I was able to determine that it was a freakin measly fuse that blew due to bad jumper cables... Thank god for the Fuse and thank you to Fixya.com that I was able to determine this so quickly!!!

My 2006 toyota sienna DVD player won't shut off

Engine room Junction Box - on left side of Engine Compartment (Drivers side in USA) - Fuse RAD 1 (20A), Fuse RAD 3 (30A) - there is another fuse that goes to your ECU, it works with the radio, but you won't need to pull it. In case you do - it is Fuse ECU-B (10A)

What the fuse number for the stereo

Fuse #38 (10A) is for the clock and radio. You should keep an eye on it after replacing it though to determine if there is something more serious causing the fuse to blow

I can't enter the radio code in my 2005 Lancer

On your radio your preset stations each have a number 1,2,3,4,5,etc. The first preset station represents the first number in your code. Lets say your code is 1212(example) then you would: [press #1 preset-1 time.] [press #2 preset-2 times.] [press #3 preset-2 times.] [press #4 preset-1 time.]
Once you've entered your code press the cd button.
Good Luck.

Electric problem or radio problem

If factory, check your fuses on the kick panel It down near the footrest on the driver side. I hope you still have the cover that comes with the fuse diagram. If not..just check all your fuses there. It should be a 10A fuse. But if by chance someone grabbed something larger then 10A then well you better check them all. Also, if does not turn on at all. meaning turn the volume up all the way and hold the search or tune button to change station you should hear a beep. That should let you know if the radio is even able to output anything. Because your display maybe broke. Also check your antenna. These cars are pretty picky with an antenna signal. But if you rather just replace the stereo then that only leave two things..the fuse or a wiring problem...in other words you maybe have a short. Good luck. hope this helps. You can find a fuse KIT with a fuse tester in a parts store. makes things easier for you when testing for bad fuses.
