Combination of issues. sounds like your timing belt is about to go if it hasnt already. Get the car timing belt replaced if your over 140k miles, the security light is a electrical systems problem and possibly a computer error that will require a code reading devic that most automobile shops have and will diagnose free of charge

Safe Mode stays on

Lets get things straight first, When you safe mode do you mean it's in Limp home mode? When you say the light stays on and does not flicker are you referring to the engine ECU light. If the ECU light is on then there must be a fault code in the systems 100% has to be. Please be more specific.

I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex, it has been over heating but only in stop and go traffic, never on the freeway, i have replaced, timing belt, water pump, cooling fan relay, cooling fan switch, flushed radiator. There is no white smoke coming from the tail pipe and the oil is clean, when the car gets hot i can smell the coolant pretty strong, car has never completly overheated gets about 3/4 of the way til red.

Engine light flashes when accelerator pedal is applied accompanied by severe power loss and trouble revving up

the check engine light is flashing to alert you to the fact that the engine has a missfire in the ignition system, don't continue to drive this with the condition or u can overheat and damage the catalytic converter.

Check engine light, engine miss, loss of kompressor power

might have a vacuum leak. 2005 c class 230 kompressors have issues with the engine vent hoses under the intake manifold deteriorating and coming completely apart. This will cause mixture adaptations to max out and can cause missfires. Usually it sets a check engine light when it gets bad enough. There is a factory recall to replace these hoses, so check with mbz to see if your car has an open recall
