2000 malibu hazard flasher

How do I replace the hazard flasher (the part you have to press so that the flasher lights work)? I already bought the part but I'm having problems replacing it. By the way it's a 2000 Chev. Malibu.

To replace hazzard flasher switch---remove trim on front of dash panal, then take out the screws that hold switch in, to pry off trim just put something under the trim and pry outward. be carefull trim can be damaged very easily.

You need to get a manual and use it for reference. Too complicated for me to write the manual for you.How did it break??? that's likely the least used switch in the whole car????

My turn signals stopped working and my hazard light don't work either. I had problems for a while now they just stopped working? help

its your flasher. for either switch you must disassemble the steering column. The signal flasher switch is the first switch you will encounter. The hazard switch is a little farther down the column.Iif your looking to replace the flasher unit . There are 2,one for the signals & one for the hazards. Look under the dash, near the fuse block, they are normally small round cylindrical units that plug in with either 2 or 3 spade terminals. The signal flasher is usually plugged into the fuse block, the hazard flasher is usually near by with just wires plugged into it.be aware that if your going into the steering column you will need special tools

I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu and when the Hazard lights are engaged they flash erratically. Anyone have an idea?

Problem is probably with the flasher it's self. Does the flasher click even after the turn signals cancel? if so, the hazard switch is the flasher on these cars. Replace the hazard switch

I got a 2006 malibu and I'm having problems with the hazard lights. The hazard lights don't work but the turn signals do.

check fuse under dash, or may be a bad flasher. you'll find that right next to fuse box you should have 2 flashers one for turn signals @ 1 for emergency flashers

Where does the flasher go on a 98 chevy malibu

Replacement The turn and hazard flashers are integrated into one flasher on these models. The flasher is located in the hazard warning switch and the hazard warning switch is located on the trim plate. Replace the flasher by unplugging the old one, removing it from the panel, and plugging in the new one.
  1. Remove the bezel from the ignition switch.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Constant clicking from flasher unit

The flasher unit has gone bad and needs to be changed. The flasher module is a part of the hazard module also. The clicking is the unit is still working but there is not enough voltage to activate the lights to flash. It's common on the Malibu's and other GM product cars similar to the Malibu like Grand Am's Ect. I believe Auto Zone has the replacement part for you car and is more reasonable in price then the dealer and the y also have the step by step instructions to replace the flasher module. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
