Question about 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
Car seemed to be running just fine last night, but won't start now.
I'm not getting any spark from the plug wires.
I fixed mine. turned out to be a bad crank position sensor. no check engine light came on.

Replace the main coil where the wires/leads run from.

Loan a free computer scanner from one of the big auto chains and hook it up in the plug under the glove compartment. Write down any error codes and either read them in the manual or search for them on the web. Been there. Good luck.

Assuming you have a distributer cap/rotor setup are you positive when the number 1 cylinder is at top dead center that the rotor is pointing to the number 1 wire? You could have the order right but the wires on the wrong spots on the distributer. Also, if the cap uses a seperate coil wire, ensure that the coil wire is in place both on the coil and the center of the cap. An easy way to avoid problems like this in the future is to replace the wires one at a time.
