SOURCE: Fog Lights won't work
Definitely a ground. Clean everything with light sandpaper. Follow any/all wires and see where it grounds, clean there too. If all else fails, run a new ground wire from the frame to the exact spot you got the bulbs to work (a workaround that usually remains permanent on my cars!).

SOURCE: Brake Lights are not working.
I had a similar problem after changing a brake light. If your tail lights work and your brake lights dont then it probably is that you installed your light assembly backwards. Take the light assembly out and make sure that when you install it, that all the contacts ( I had 3) line up correctly. It took me about a week of removing and installing the light assembly to catch this. Hope this helps!

Checked the switch and plug? here's how :)
Yes it is the reverse light switch which is hooked up to your gearbox which needs to be replaced. Also it could be the plug going into this switch is a bit dirty or thorn (due to engine temperature and time wear) which in that case means that it needs to be fixed before replacing the switch.
Checking its actually the swtich so you don't buy it for nothing :)
Just to make sure that the circuitry is ok. Go to the gearbox (if it is front wheel drive transverse engine you wont need to go underneath) check where the gearbox and linkages are close to the revers there should be a switch n plug hooked up to it. Unplug it put in a piece of wire to short circuit both wires. Then turn the ignnition key on and if your circuitry is fine the lights should go on :) This means that its the switch for sure :) I hope that this helped your problem :)

I have a 2004 ram 2500 and all my lights work except for low beams. It is not in the switch, I haver replaced the switch with no change. This is a circuit problem with these dodge pickups. I haven't firgured out what it is but it isn't the switch. and unless the low beams and high beams are fused seperate, it isn't a fuse problem either. i have looked for a fuse and can't even find the fuse for the headlights. Im lost like you!
