The radiator maybe semi clogged, sometimes sludge gathers down the end tanks and blocks off a percentage of your radiator which in turn struggles to keep the coolant at the required temp. Even if you take the radiator out and stick a hose in it it still looks like its not clogged the water just run off the sludge and still looks clean when it comes out, the sludge kind of goes like a semi hard clay feeling substance. Its worth getting it checked out as if you heat it up enough you may end up warping the head slightley and/or damaging the head gasket.Radiator places take the end tanks off and clean out the core with long tin rods that will clear the build-up. I hope this helps.

1993 ford escort heater blowing cool

heater core cloged, get car hot check heaterhose going into heatercore should be two inch thick hoses going into the heatercore, underhood against firewall pasenger side, after hot while running heater on, chech to see if both hoses r hot, if one is cold, that means there is a restriction in the heatercore, sometimes on older cars there is a external valve run by a vaccume hose, or cable, thats fixed in with the heater hoses , sometimes this valve jams and can be manually switched.

Temp gt hot blowing cold air would this be a thermostat or water pump

Maybe a thermostat..or the heatercore clogged up..If the vehicle runs hot pretty quick then its the thermostat stuck closed..If the vehicle is not running hot,but you have no heat then the thermostat will be stuck open or the heater core not circulating

I've got a 96 Buick Regal Custom 3.8L V6. It's been running hot for a while. Yesterday the heater worked fine then last night it started blowing cold. I knew I had a cracked radiator, so I replaced the...

the one thing that comes too mind is trapped air-when i do a radiator I always start up and warm engine so thermostat cycles a few times to make sure that you dont trap air in colling system. you did not say so but if you didnt, its really not a bad idea to change thermostat and gasket when digging into colling system. they are usaully fairly cheap.

My heater blows cold air. I have had it checked. The water is hot and is running properly through. Mechanic had no explanation as to why only cold air was blowing in and not hot.

It seems to Me that, the heatercore is not functioning properly. Its just like a radiator, the hot water runs through the core, once the thermostat opens at it's set temperature and having the blower motor on, it should blow out hot air.

Forget the Thermostat.
Start with no $.
Check Heater Core, leaks in rubber hoses ( they go to the firewall, should be hot when touch them (2) ) Coolant Level.
