All transmissions in all types of cars have some sort of fuse. So, yes, there is a fuse in the transmission of a 1998 Chevy Cavalier.

Flashers do not work

They relay is built into the hazard switch. If it is in the dash, replace it. If it is on the steering column, replace the turn signal switch.

Turn signals went out

replace the fuses first. for turn/hazards.
the HAZ fuse 10 amps ., do hazards fail?????????

old car, very old. 1980 corolla.
first off, the lamps are brass based lamps. 115x lamps
they can short so replace them all or remove all of them
and put only 1 new lamp in (of the 4) if this works, good.
if not use a voltmeter to find the cause.
12v during a flash is good, 0v dead, 6v is shorted wires.
this is easy, dont panic, get the schematic for the car is best way.
The FSM has this but are rare for such and old car.

i looked online , alldata.com
and the schematic is there.
the path is from battery to ground as follows
10a haz fuse and 5am turn fuse. (2 fuse!)
the fuses drives the HAZ module
the HAZ module drives the lamps directly in HAZ mode
in blink mode the HAZ module drives the combo turn switch.
a bad flasher module KILL BOTH, (did it?)
the comb drives left or right side and the lamps are all grounded
completing the path of electrics, and the lamps glow.
current flows, and the lamps glow.

lamps
green-black is left
green-yell is left side.

the best test for this car, is to cycle the HAZ button over and over
until they work, most switches this old. 33 years are dirty and fail.
so cycle it. 10 times, if the HAZ fails.
it must work on HAZ or its all a wasted effort.
because the HAZ module feeds the binkers...

Your brake lights and hazard warning lights should not work without the fuse installed.

My break light fuse keeps blowing in my 97 suburban any ideas why

Assuming it's a K1500, 15A STOP/HAZ fuse 1 in the instrument panel fuse block is the source of power. If the stop lamp switch checks OK, and the center high mount stop lamp is OK, the cruise control system gets input at this point and may be defective. Fuse 1 also feeds power through the turn/hazard switch to the stop filaments of the tail/stop/turn lamps and these presumably are OK

1998 chevy cavalier horn goes off by itself

If your horn goes off by itself and won't stop there is a fuse on the driver side panel by the wheel, open it up,and looked at the back side of the panel and take out the one marked cig. It will stop it from happening the horn is connected to the cig lighter.

Where is the fuse box located in/on a 1998 chevy calvalier?

Sir: I have a 1998 Cavalier. The fuses are located at the end of the dash on the drivers side, where the driver's door goes up against the dash when you close it. The plastic panel has a little notch to pull it open. Its molded into the plastic... "Fuses". Glad to be of help.
