SOURCE: BMW X3 starting problems
Well with a replacement of the ignition coils, it makes sense that since this started happening after the replacement that the new coils are bad or have a bad connection. Have the dealer who put them on, check them for you as I am assuming that you did not have this problem with the old coil

SOURCE: running problem plugs and leads
the longest lead goes 2 the furthest cylinder, as they get shorter move back towards the distributor!!! all the leads are different lenghts! check the plug lead on the coil at the shock mount as it gives problems!!

SOURCE: Car starts then immediately idles down and shuts off
i have had the same problem at times. my car would start and then shut off. but i found that i needed oil and check my oil and it was a quater low put in some oil and everything went fine i notices that everytime the oil is low the same thing happens also depending on the position of the car being park meaning that if you are in a down hill position or up hill position i will do the same. so you have to accelarate for 1 minute to have the oil go up. i hope this works

Your oil is a little low, and the timing may be off a bit but if it smooths out after warm it is probably ljust
low oil.
