SOURCE: key will not start my 95 buick park avenue

does your key have a chip on it ? if it does , the problem is going to be that ,key chip only works with the original computer , until you have it reprogrammed by the dealer . this is an anti theft function to keep someone from stealing your car . there fore your car will not start until the chip matches the ecm.

SOURCE: Replace Thermostat in 1998 Buick Park Avenue

if you follow the top radiator hose to the engine you will see where it connects to the engine...you will want to drain some of the coolant from the radiattor but once you loosen the clamp holding the hose on you will need to pull the hose off and push it to the side out of the way. there are two bolts that hold the housing on that you need to remove where the hose was hooked up. once you take those bolts out you should be able to pull the housing out and the thermostat is right there.
i do wish to offer you an opinion on the thermostat i dont think its the problem..i think maybe your heater core is partially clogged and not letting the coolant get into the interior of the car as you are driving.if its blowing warm when you start it up and let it run and it gets warm and then get cooler as you drive thats going to be in the heater core since the thermostat is opening to let the heat in when you first start the car up to warm it up.

SOURCE: I have a Buick park avenue ultra and i cant locate the radiator

1997 Buick park avenue ultra

The radiator is in the front of the car under the hood behind the grille. It will be rectangular shaped and have a fan set to blow against it. It will have a cap on the top. DO NOT REMOVE THE CAP WHILE THE ENGINE IS HOT. Beside the radiator is another rectangular shaped item that looks like the radiator but is the condensor for the air conditioner. It does not have a cap on top and is in front of the radiator.

The drain for the radiator is on the lower part. After draining be sure to close the drain before refilling.
Refill the overflow bottle as well.
AFTER you refill, let the engine run for about a minute while topping off the radiator so any air will work out of the system.
Then install and tighten radiator cap.

When you drain the radiator, dispose of the fluid according to local regulations or recycling center. Do not allow animals to drink any of it. It's poisonous.
You can get an auto repair manual from library, auto parts stores or the internet.

What would make a 2000 buick park avenue over heat and shut off

over heating is from ---low coolant level--blocked radiator cores--fins missing from radiator cores--thermostat not opening--coolant temperature sensor not operating the cooling fan-- driving to fast and not engaging over drive ---if the fan is mechanical and there is a viscous fan hub then the hub is faulty ( overheating at lights but cools down on moving)-- faulty radiator cap--- air in cooling system--run fault codes to check for problems with mixture and timing---low tyre pressures at speed ---over loading--pulling a heavy trailer ---hilly conditions

Perhaps some where in that list you will find an answer to your question

Overheating

check the thermostat it may not be opening, after youve run the motor for awhile feel the bottom and top of radiator they should both be hot,if the bottoms cold then the chances are its not opening,
change it, if they are both hot its a sign its opening, the coolant fan may not be cutting in, check it out, it should cut in after the motors been run up to temp, if it dosent cut in check out the sender it could be faulty at the worst you could have head gasket problems

Buick park avenue engine start problem

Try replacing the coolant control temp sensor, the one to the computer (usually it will have two wires), not the sensor to the temp light or gauge (usually has only one wire).

2000 park avenue no heat, fan works electronic dash reads fine but no heat driving down road and just went cold. Water level fine.

If your temp gauge on the dash never gets to operating temp your thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced.

Make sure there are no leaks and that the system is full to capacity. After the vehicle has warmed up check radiator hoses for temperature differecial also check heater core hoses. A significant difference in temperature may indicate a plugged heater core or thermostat failure
