No, GM producst are fairly eazy.
there is a trim piece that goes around the radio, held on by push tabs... just dont be afraid to tug at the panel. it will pop off..
then 2-3 bolts mounting the radio.
radio will slide out.
if the antenna is in the window, look for a thin filament where it has to jumper across from the body to the glass.. usually up high, and you'll need to remove the pillar trim.
Have you had any elecrical item replaced recently... ie alternator, battery, blower fan etc?
This will sometimes cause the ground path back to the battery to shift, or has higher magnetic interference than the oem unit.
Hope this points you in the right direction.
I charge $40/hr for troubleshooting which is the national average.
Your local stereo shop should be able to sniff out the problem for you n a reasonable amount of time.

Sat nav and radio not working

Good Afternoon Michael

Sounds most likely to be an antenna issue. Most everything going into the radio needs an antenna to be picked up. Sometimes, a station or two might still be heard above the static if they are local and fairly strong signals.

If you can get normal sound from other inputs, like MP3 players or CDs, then the amp and output parts of the unit are fine, and it's an issue of getting an input signal to use.

If you have the tools, pull the stereo head unit from the dash and make sure the antenna input cable(s) are firmly in place. Likewise, depending on location, you can likely get to the base of the external antenna, where the other end of the cable plugs in, and make sure it's in snugly.

lacking the tools - you can talk to your dealer or a local car audio place. They'll likely have the tools, and a check for antenna cable connection would not likely be too expensive or time-intensive.

Good Luck!

Does your car have an automatic raising and lowering antenna? If it does check your fuses for it. If not pull your radio out of the dash, and check to make sure that the antenna wire has not become lose or unplugged from the back.

Radio Stations are all static

If the antenna isnt there... that may be the problem!! LOL

Have you tried an aftermarket antenna directly to the radio to see if it works properly?

Fixed MAST antennas usually designate a standard 31" antennas protruding from the wheel well on either the passenger or Driver side.... not the bumper.

A solution to the fixed mast/car wash problem is to go with an interior glass mount or hidden antenna. This keeps your wiring out of the outside corrosive environment as well.

Radio effected by brakes?

If this happens when the car is still you have voltage interference between brake light voltage & antenna. If this happens from motion check all wire connections, loose antenna wire, to antenna.
