Washed motor on a 96 xjs conv

Now it won't start. No spark

    No it was'nt running. Engine was cold. It does'nt seem to hace a distributor cap, at least not visible. I checked everywhere.

First Thing----Did you have it Running While your Washed the Engine? If not you have got Water inside the Distributor Cap. Take it off and Dry it out VERY GOOD.

    Never Wash the Engine when the Vehicle is not Running or you get the No Start Problem Described Above. Let it set for a Few Days and it Might Dry itself out. People do it all the Time. Common Problem and Very Common Solution.

96 blazer.4.3 ltr 4x4.new crank sensor.new fuel filter.new coil.got fuel and spark.still won't start


How about the fuel pump...are you getting the fuel to the cylinders? Is the fuel making it through the fuel line through the fuel filter? Drop a few drops in 1 cylinder, if it fires, you have a fuel problem. Does it turn over? If not check out the motor starter!

did you replace the ECu with a used one or new. if it a used one did you match it to the old.why di you change the ECU.? when you turn the key in the start position does the fuel pump turn on? does it crank? do you know if there is spark if you pull one spark plug wire?

I washed under the hood of my 96 4.0 land rover wont start now


try spraying leads coil distributer cap inside and out with wd40 but make sure you dry excess fluid off its a must cos it flamable this should do the trick,, so spray on wipe off..
