CD player in a 2005 XC90 volvo

I recently purchased a 2005 XC90 volvo. When I went to put a CD in, it read "deck error" and would not play the CD. It wouldn't even take the CD. HELP! I need music! : )

Same problem, except I have an '04.

My Volvo XC90 2005 went into a registered Volvo garage to be repaired after suffering a door seal leak - the whole car was flooded with rain. On getting back the car, the 6 CD player would not work and read DECK ERROR and would not eject my CDs. Garage says I need CD changer!

Sorry, It's not reparable. You have to change it the new one. This price is very high. If your car hasn't warranty, I suggest you, use a portable DVD-USB player with an FM trasmitter in your car. I know it isn't sounds good, but I had the same problem and I have changed the CD player to a new one (it was terrible prize, of course) and I never use CD and DVD since that time. I use mp3 -usb combo only and i haven't any problem. I hope this help.

Cd changer wont read cd's in my 03 xc90 volvo

They make a cd player cleaner you can buy about any audio store , I would give that a shot first. Looks like a cd with small brushes on it. The laser is probably dirty.

When i put cd in the screen reads disc unreadable, we tried to put disc cleaner still the same thing, what would you recommend?

i would recommend a new head unit as by the sounds of it your laser is stuffed. another thing is, is it mp3s your trying to put in? and is it a mp3 playing cd player.

Volvo XC90 6 disc CD player reads DISC ERROR, please help!!

Try this to eject cartridge
PRESS AND HOLD eject button
Insert credit card under cartridge, push firmly in,then move left/right
Try several times ,what it does is locate a micro switch which sticks
This works on all cd stackers providing it has no other problems

I have a 6 disc changer. It went to change to another disc and the display reads "disc error". I can't eject, change or play the CD. The dealer says I need a new radio/CD. Help.

well with the issue you have you could pull the unit out and see if you can open it and check the guts for broke or missing parts but is would be easier to just replace with with a salvage cd/radio. just remember to get the Vin# so you can get the lock code if it locks.that would be for the new one.

No sound and cd read Paused

I had the same problem a few times. I found that it went into pause mode when the CD was playing and the volume was turned down to zero. Try turning the volume back up. The CD should exit pause mode.
