SOURCE: Check engine light came on.

This could be a major problem or a simple problem... First I'd have someone sit inside and start the car and REV the motor a little, feel the exhaust if it is extremely hot and very little coming out it may be Catalytic Converters... Could be Oxygen Sensors,
Distributor, Fouling injectors... On these newer cars it is really hard to tell, take it to a Auto Zone, Oreilly's or other car parts store, several of them will read your cars computer for free banking on the idea it's a replaceable part and you will buy from them...

SOURCE: engine oil light came on, on my mercedes ML 350, 2006 model.

IT MEANS THAT YOUR OIL LEVEL IS VERY LOW AND NEEDS TO BE FILLED. CHECK THE OIL LEVEL WITH THE DIPSTICK IF EQUIPPED. IF NOT, THEN ADD 1 OR 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO SEE IF THE OIL LIGHT GOES OFF. IT MAY TAKE SYNTHETIC OIL SO DON'T PUT CONVENTIONAL OIL IN IT IF YOU SEE A MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC OIL RECOMMENDATION STICKER UNDER THE HOOD. IF YOU ARE UNSURE THEN BRING IT TO A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN A.S.A.P.. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.

SOURCE: mercedes clk 270 cdi check engine light

hi, unfortunately this is one of them how longs a piece of string things, you could purchase a code reader reset the error code but, what you have to think of is what caused it to do it in the first place, accelerating to hard should not cause an error ( i do it all the time in my car lol ) but it might be related to the 02 sensor getting to much unburnt fuel passing it which would cause the engine light to come on, though if the car is running as normal i doubt that will be the issue, i would myself on a car like that take it to the main dealer and get them to check it out, as buying an inexpensive code reader might not cut the mustard with this one, and parts being as dear as they are for merc's i would play on the safe side, spend a few bucks to save a load...sorry not much help

Dipstick

There is no dip stick in this model. You can find a red cap at the back near the fire wall. Engine oil is electronically measure in your dash cluster.

I need to put fluid in my transmission on 2006 clk 350.

usually one adds tran fluid thru dipstick tube, why would this be any differant ? with car on level surface, having not been running in the last 30 min., warm engine to normal operating temp., 5 min., pull out dipstick to see where level of fluid is, have aclean rag, donot get this fluid on car paint, be careful. wipe off stick, put back in tube, be sure its in all the way, pull it out again, see level on stick, if below fill line , add the recommened fluid type using a funnel, a little bit at a time, shot glass at a time, recheck level w/stick, DO NOT OVER FILL, OK! ( HOPE YOUR CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING THE ENTIRE TIME )

Partition open on my clk 350 mercedes, top won't go down

your crank and no start issue is likely caused by a failing crankshaft position sensor. they usually fail when at high temps like driving and when engine cools off they are OK again, it will fail while driving as it gets worse.

Hello, I have a 2005 clk 500. I'm having the same problem as the guy above, my car will turn over but not start. It will take several minutes before it will start and then it will randomly shut off and it...

Common problem for what your explaining is the crank position sensor. You can change it yourself it's not very hard. It is located on the right side of the of the transmission bellhousing if your looking at the car from the front. You will need a female Torx socket and a couple extensions to get at it. Its kind of hard to see. What happens is the sensors gets hot and the resistance goes to high and reads like an open circuit. Without that signal to the engine control module it cuts out the spark and the cars shuts off or doesn't start. Basically it doesn't know the engine is on. It will only throw the check engine light on when the sensor is actually failing causing the motor to crank but no start. When the sensor starts working properly and the engine starts the check engine light will sometimes turn off.

take the car to dealership and get them to cancel the fault memory of the engine control unit. Then if the warning light comes back on you will need a full diagnosis check to establish what is causing thefault.
