Question about 2004 Pontiac Grand Am
The driver's side door won't latch, meaning I can't close it or lock the vehicle when not in use. It appears that all three bolts holding the latch are just gone. How do I replace them?
Goto your local gm dealer and you can pick up the bolts. They usually have them in stock. You'll need a torx drive bit to tighten them. For temporary purposes, you can take 1 off of the other doors (asuming it's a 4 door), otherwise take 2 off of the passenger side. You can use a screw driver to in the latch part to hold it in place while you start the bolts. You may have to hold the handle up and manually release the latch when you are done so it'll close.

If the side door does not work the central unit may be defective or the motor in the doors are not working you need to get it serviced

I am not familiar with this particular car, however MANY times I have opened a hood by having one person hold the lever up (or out), while another presses down or hits with a closed fist, the hood near where it latches. After you get it open, thoroughly clean and lubricate the latch mechanism. I hope this helps you get in.
