SOURCE: oil sending unit

I have heard sludge buildup can be an issue with Dodge engines in Durangos. Make sure sludge is not blocking oil flow and reducing pressure.

The oil light in my 2001 Dodge Neon will come on, off, then on again and stay on. I've already changed my oil and upgraded the gas I use. I'm currently using Castrol GTX, i'm not sure if it's a sludge...

Pull the connector off the oil sending unit and look to see if there is any oil in the connector and see if any is in the sending unit were the connector plug into it. If there is replace the sending unit. It should be dry and free of oil. Also go to the parts store and get something called brake cleaner to clean the oil out of the connector.
