SOURCE: when I turn the ignition the car makes a whirring sound.

The whirtting sound is indicative of the starter bendix not engaging. You may need a new starter solenoide or possible a new starter.

If it has an automatic transmission it isnt the best thing to do.The transmission pump wont suply lube to parts that need it and stand a real good chace of causeing damage due to the lack of lubrication.

SOURCE: How do you get to the set of spark plugs along the

Obviously, the front three are fairly easy to reach. The rear three are the real problem. The easiest way to do the rear three is to jack the front of the vehicle up, crawl underneath until you can see the back of the engine from the ground, get real comfortable, making sure the engine and exhaust are cooled down, reach your arm up and pull the boots, very carefully.... then replace the spark plugs. You will not be able to see the plugs themselves, but this seems to be the easiest way to change them. Make sure you have a swivel spark plug socket and extensions and replace the spark plugs with platinum plugs so you can get another 100,000 miles and make sure you have anti seize so you can remove the plugs again in the future. The golden rule is that the engine has platinum plugs in there now and there good for 100,000 mile, if there are no misfire try not to change them unless you think your close to the end of the spark plug life or the check engine light came one to indicate that there are misfires. Good luck and hope this helps.

How and where to adjust idle on 2005 3.4 buick rendezvous?

Idle is adjusted by the car's ECM and can not be adjusted manually. Its most common when there is idle issues, there is carbon build up in the throttle body and will need to be cleaned out and can be done in under 5 min.

Buy a can of throttle body cleaner and clean out the throttle body and pay close attention to the IAC (Idle Air Control) passage way. Just follow the instruction on the can and you should have your idle issues resolved.

Good luck, be safe and keep us posted. Thank you for using fixya

What is the cost for cleaning the gas throttle plate and throttle body plus install additive ? buick 2003 rendezvous

You can do this yourself. It only takes a few minutes. Pay a few dollars for a can of carburetor cleaner. Injector cleaner just goes into the fuel tank after filling up. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using Fixya.
