Review the wiring connection maybe when you change headlight switch the wiring connections maybe interchange and maybe the contacts is dirty or rusty clean it with a sand paper,so current pass properly not trapped to one line and check also selector assignment .

Hope it may help you;

Diagram of where headlamp relay is found on an 88 ford ranger. my headlights won't come on. all other lights work inside and out. i have replaced my headlight switch, but that didn't work. i have replaced...

Your ranger'nt have a relay,you need to check the grounds to each light or you simply need two lights,or a dimmer switch.Check for power with a test light and if you hahe power replace the light,if you don't replace the dimmer switch.

98 ranger 4x4 dash lights went out and heater control lights also

WELL YOUR 12 VOLTS TO THE PARK LIGHTS ON EXTERIOR OF CAR COME FROM THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH.. ALSO THAT VOLTAGE FEEDS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER... KEEP IN MIND THAT THE DASH DIMMER MIGHT ALSO BE BAD... WHEN YOU TURN ON PARK LIGHTS YOU SHOULD SEE THE DASH LIGHT FUSE GO HOT IF NOT SUSPECT THE HEAD LIGHT SWITCH

Dash light would not come on at night

Most of the time that problem lies in the headlight switch. Check your fuse for dash lights also. does your dome light come on?

1999 Ford Ranger is blowing Parking Lamp Fuse

you have two wires touching somewhare, probabley on front passengers side or the wires are mashed into the frame causing a short. i would investagate all the light wiring on the passenger front and tape up any exposed wires. a crushed socket can also cause this.
