With hood raised look to the far right in the corner. You will see the resevoir to the left of the resevoir for gear oil. The resevoir for gear oil is smaller & sits right in the right corner. The cap has a raised button on it & there's a round floating disk inside.

Where is a diagram for grease /lube under chassis locations

under-body only.check
my guess not gear lube. right>? axles/gear boxes, (a plenty)
2wd, or 4wd?
what do you want to grease, you never said.
bearings, tie-rods, ujoints etc. only>?

are you asking for ZERKS? only?
or all places on car with grease.?
are you saying just grease? and only things that must not be removed for service with grease, (like wheel bearings and splines)

The free book posted over 200 times.
chapter 0, read that? lube/maintenance?
see the 4wd exceptions?
my 2010 has none.

the map includes LUBE points.
but adds gear boxes, axle gears, GL4 and GL5 (gear lube) is lube. too
but engine oil is not lube, to 1996 books.

1993.(oldest for GC) the word LUBE is wide reaching...
i love the NUT typo.
my guess is you meant grease only
and with no disassemlbly

What fluid do you put in the the front differential of a 1992 subaru legacy?

  • Hi, I can help.

  • The front differential uses a 80/90 gear lube. I like the 75/90 synthetic gear lube myself as it is a little better but this is not required.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

I noticed my 1995 chevy s-10 4x4 has been acting up. In the mornings the 4 wheel drive wont in-gauge. but after driving it and the truck warms up for about 10 miles then it locks in. Any ideas? I don't...

You may need to service your front differential. Mine was acting up so I decided to change the gear lube. Since there is no drain plug, I had to siphon the old lube out. That stuff was really nasty, and there wasn't that much in there. I pumped it full of fresh 80/90 gear lube and it made a lot of difference. It got rid of a lot of noise in the front end.

'88 4runner shift problem

You say you added gear lube. Where did you add the gear lube, to the differential? Because if you added gear lube to your master cylinder for the clutch, I think we found your problem. It calls for brake fluid.
