Usually the two tensioner pulleys go bad and squeak and knock. Check and replace them asap if they're bad on it will cause lots of damage if they totally fail.

2003 chevy trailblazer motor knocking and throwing a small squeak

Henry, first need to determine if it's the actual engine that is knocking. Other accessories (water pump, steering pump, etc) could cause a knock. If the ECM knock sensor picks up a knock, regardless of where it originated from, will start to make timing and fuel adjustments which may cause it to hesitate or "sputter". You can take off the drive belt and start the engine. This will be the tale. If you hear the knocking, it's obviously in the engine and could be as bad as crank bearings or even the torque converter. Have you had any work done recently? If there is no knocking when the engine is running without the serpentine belt, you should now be able to narrow down the bad component by rotating each drive pulley until you find the damage..

What else can it be besides a water pump if my jeep is squeaking

The engine belt is what squeaks, usually caused by bad tensioner pulleys.

I'm hearing a load bearing noise from the engine, I thought it was my water pump, but it's not

i had a problem with my compass when it was new. at first there was a nice kinda high pitched sound coming from the engine compartment. it was not loud so i ignored it. after a while the sound seemed to get louder and not even, kind of like a loud squeak. it will come and go. and yes it was the water pump. the dealer replaced it and no more noise after that.
