SOURCE: 2000 isuzu trooper 3.2 v-6 dohc camshaft timing

It's more to it than aligning the marks since the cam pulleys turn about three times or more to one turn of the camshaft on this engine. You need to find someone that is experienced on this vehicle.

SOURCE: how do you time a FVM isuzu truck

Is this the doubble over head cam???? You will need to make sure the bottom timing mark is strait up and that number 1 piston is all the way to the top.The easyest way is to take a pice of rope about 2 feet long and remove spark plug and feed about a foot of rope in the cylinder head. Then turn the crank over real easy untill it stops. Then take the rope out and move to ya cam. Take the valve cover off and find the exhaust valve to number 1 cylinder and move the cam untill you see the valve start to push down on exhaust valve. Then put the belt back on and you should be ready to go. Always start the motor before putting it all back together. Easyer that way.

1994 isuzu mu diesel engine timing marks where

you will have to loosen of the cam shaft/s so that the shafts can be turned without moving the valves
that should allow the crank to be turned until you get no 1 piston TDC
I suspect that the valves are hitting the piston , preventing it turning over
My book shows a variety of isuzu engines 1994 so can you comment back on what size it is and if possible vin code number

How to set the time belt?

4 Cylinder diesel(4JX1) :
1 - Timing mark
2 - Cam pulley
3 - HP Oil pump pulley
4 - Tensioner pulley

suzman_0.jpg

6 Cylinder petrol:
Align crank(C) timing notch mark (1) to oil pump mark.
Align cam pulley(L+R) marks(3) to cylinder head marks
The cam belt has 3 marks, 2 lines and one mark that is actually a row of dots. Align the dots to the crank pulley groove mark(2) and align the other 2 lines to the cam pulley marks. Using a clothes peg to hold the belt to the cam pulleys works wonders to keep it in place while fitting. Please note the arrows on the belt and have them point in the direction of rotation - right to left side of engine
W - water pump pulley
I - Idler pulley
T - Tensioner pulley.

If for some reason you need to realign the cams on each bank :
Standing in front of the car and starting from YOUR left , looking at the cams you should see RE, RI, LI, LE on each of the camshafts.(R for right bank, L for left bank, I for intake and E for exhaust) Right bank camshafts are marked with one dot, left bank with 2 dots on the shaft itself. To align the camshafts to each other each cam shaft gear has a mark on it. Draw an imaginary line between the centre of the camshaft and the centre of the pulley. The alignment mark should be between the two along this imaginary line. The result will be that RI an RE will be at the top of each gear. The same with the left bank.

I have isuzu trooper 1988 am changing the timing belt but i forget mark the timing and now i cant get it start.

Take it to a trained mechanic that works on isuzu's. If you have never put a belt on one of these do not attempt it.The cam pulley turns aver three times to one rotation of the camshafts, no marks.

2002 isuzu trooper want pull hat off your head timing belt marks are on mark. the motor will crank but do not have enough power to pull off. it is a 3.5 v-6 and computer code shows p1120 and p1334.

Aah I see. Let's start from the beginning then. Also read this: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t3609098-nned_know_set_cam_engine_timing
It explains setting the timing further. Get these set up correctly and then we can dig further. I can post a diagram but haven't figured out how on Fixya yet.
