Mazda keys for 2004 model

I just bought a Mazda 6 2004 and I got only one key, does the key have a chip, do I have to go to the dealer for a spare one or can I cut a key at the corner store?

No you have to go to dealer and find out what chip # it is because if you had to use a locksmith to come out and make another key they charge every time they have to reset the computer and wait some places will not cutr akey until they see a title and license or proof who its registered too so beware but get chip # and no it by heart

I have a mazda 2004 MPV and need to make a spare key.Does it have a chip in it ? or can I go to Home depot and get a spare made ??

It appears that this key has a chip in it. Check with a dealer or certified locksmith. You can also buy a key blank online and then have someone cut it for you. Some locksmiths will do that and some won't.

I have lost the key to my Mazda 626, I have a spare key but this only opens the door. It does turn the car over but because of immobiliser it won't start car. Going to cost $500 to get a new key through...

Without having a spare key with the chip, its going to be expensive.
A locksmith may be able to make a roadside service call and get it done, but probably not much cheaper than the dealer.

Lost key what can i do

If you do not have another key you will have to call a locksmith or Mazda dealer. If you have a spare key any place that makes keys can make a replacement unless the key has a security chip. In that case only a Mazda dealer or locksmith can replace the key.

Lost my main set for a Mazda 323 (1999). Located the spare set, which starts the car, but the immobilizer kicks in. Is there a way of pairing my key to the car, or disconnecting the immobilizer, or is this...

The spare key is the valet key, You can call the dealer and have them cut you new keys for you car. You will need the VIN number and your registration for the car. If it doesn't have chip in it, they can make it for you in a couple of minutes. If it has the chip in it, they will have to order it. Without the chip, the key will cost between $20 and $30 dollars.

The anti theft light wont go off, so cant start the car

your key may be bad, try a spare key, if you dont have a spare then your going to have to tow it to the dealer to have a key programed, theres no other way, without the computer to program a key and computer to program module your at the dealer mercy, good luck.

what you need to do is get the chassis number off your car and take it to your nearest mazda main dealer where they will give you a new key which may then need programming this will be carried out in the dealership by means of a computer

I lost my key to my mazda 6 2005 and I need to know how I get a replacement key? I still have a spare set but would like to get another one made.

If it has a micro chip on it you'll have to probably go to a mazda dealer to get one, because it will have to be the same code. If it doesn't, you can go anywhere. Walmart, etc.
