SOURCE: 2005 corolla xrs slippage
It could be a case of a worn out clutch pads and lining, There is one adjustment for your clutch it is located under your dash, at the end of your clutch pedals arm and right about where the pedal arm pivots. You adjust it real slow, snall turn makes a big difference. good luck

when the noise is heard, try putting very slight pressure on the brake pedal and see if the noise goes away. If this is the case then definitely the brakes have to be removed and checked again. But if the noise is still present then it's something else doing that noise ans further investigations needs to be carried oput.

The only other valve that would hold residual pressure is possibly the proportion valve if so equiped. If you follow the brake lines from the master cyl, they will lead yo to a muti port valvethat has all the brake lines on it. Look at the ends of the valve and tell me if there is a pin protruding from one or both ends. If a pin is proyrudingfrom one end and not the other I'll tell you how to fix it.
